The Science and Innovation Program provides independent scientific advice to the SEQ Healthy Waterways Partners. It also ensures that rigorous and independent science underpins South East Queensland Healthy Waterways’ work, and that stakeholders have access to relevant scientific information and decision support tools.

The Program coordinates and delivers a cost-effective and integrated scientific program at regional, sub-regional and local catchment levels. It facilitates the involvement of the Scientific Advisory Group, a collaborative initiative by a consortium of scientists from universities, research organisations, Queensland Government agencies and industry.

In 2007-2008, the Program focused on activities aimed at supporting the implementation of the SEQ Healthy Waterways Strategy 2007-2012 through operationalisation of the Management Strategy Evaluation Action Plan (5.1MB)  (one of the three enabling action plans in the Strategy) and creation of research partnerships to leverage stakeholder resources.
